The CDFI program uses monetary awards and training opportunities to invest in and build the capacity of CDFIs, empowering them to grow, achieve organizational sustainability, and drive community revitalization.
Through the use of monetary awards and training opportunities for Native CDFIs, the CDFI Fund’s NACA program creates jobs, builds businesses, and fosters economic self-determination in Native communities nationwide.

Funding Goals
THROUGH THE CDFI PROGRAM, THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (CDFI) FUND PROVIDES (I) FA AWARDS TO CERTIFIED CDFIS TO BUILD THEIR FINANCIAL CAPACITY TO LEND TO ELIGIBLE MARKETS AND/OR THEIR TARGET MARKETS, AND (II) TA AWARDS TO BUILD CERTIFIED AND EMERGING CDFIS’ ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY TO SERVE ELIGIBLE MARKETS AND/OR THEIR TARGET MARKETS. FA AWARDS INCLUDE THE BASE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (BASE-FA) AWARD AND MAY ALSO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AWARDS THAT ARE PROVIDED AS A SUPPLEMENT TO THE BASE-FA AWARD: HEALTHY FOOD FINANCING INITIATIVE [1]-FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (HFFI–FA), PERSISTENT POVERTY COUNTIES-FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (PPC–FA), AND DISABILITY FUNDS-FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (DF–FA).
