Project Grant

Overview

Grant Description
This award approves funding for the 2023-24 Volunteer Generation Fund ARP program described in the approved program narrative and budget. The purpose of this grant is to document and scale three highly promising volunteer-mentor recruitment and retention pilot efforts, and developing a technical assistance program to help promote these efforts internally, as the organization grows, and externally, across the mentoring movement.

By performing the following high-level activities: 1) leveraging new job connector-technologies to recruit volunteers at a scale required to meet the need; 2) expanding access to volunteering to underrepresented groups with a "Volunteer Benefits" program; and 3) increasing mentor retention by gamifying Dream's volunteer experience, this will benefit 1,000 new volunteer mentors, ages 14-21, and codifying new volunteer generation and retention strategies to share across the mentoring field.

The general expected outcome includes helping to close the opportunity gap for 1,000 children in low-income households. Your 2023-24 regulatory match is 20%, and your budgetary match is 20.5%.
