Grant Description
This award funds the approved 2023-2024 AmeriCorps State Competitive Fixed Amount Program, as listed on the approved program funding summary chart. This award is a fixed amount grant at $22,180 per MSY (Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education, Inc. $23,000 cost/MSY); Christian Appalachian Project, Inc. ($18,750 cost/MSY); Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky, Inc. $23,000 cost/MSY; Morehead State University $23,000 cost/MSY). No member may enroll prior to the approved start date of the member enrollment period.

Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education, Inc.: This award includes ARP funding intended to increase the living allowance, provide match replacement funds, and/or expand current activities. To do this, we will award $282,038 for living allowance increases.

Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky, Inc.: This award includes ARP funding intended to increase the living allowance, provide match replacement funds, and/or expand current activities. To do this, we will award $171,764 for living allowance increases.

Morehead State University: This award includes ARP funding intended to increase the living allowance, provide match replacement funds, and/or expand current activities. To do this, we will award $32,940 for living allowance increases.

Christian Appalachian Project, Inc.: This award includes ARP funding intended to increase the living allowance, provide match replacement funds, and/or expand current activities. To do this, we will award $1,042,280 in Bucket 3 funds - expansion of service.

This award also fully funds the remaining one year of the Christian Appalachian Project, Inc. subgrant, by providing $542,292 in funding for the 2024-25 program year. The grantee will not spend any of the FY 2024 additional funds until the FY24 program year begins. No additional slots are awarded at this time. Slots will be awarded in the year for which they apply. FY24 AmeriCorps members will receive living allowance and education award benefits in accordance with FY24 amounts.
Funding Goals
THE PURPOSE OF THIS AWARD IS TO ASSIST THE GRANTEE IN CARRYING OUT A NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAM AS AUTHORIZED BY THE NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE ACT OF 1990, AS AMENDED (42 U.S.C. ยง12501 ET SEQ.).
