Brief summary:
ADES plans to increase the presence of employment services with in-person and virtual services to the federally incarcerated reentry population.
ADES is requesting $3,994,496 to expand the PROWD II, to provide critical job readiness support and resources to soon-to-be released inmates from medium high security BOP approved residential facilities.
Through the activities funded under this project, ADES expects to leverage the successful models already in existence within Arizona to establish critical foundational processes and best practices to develop a sustainable model that will continue to support this population beyond the end of the grant.
ADES reentry program model reentry curriculum model can be modified to meet the unique needs and accessibility of each location.
The four ADES employment counselors will contribute 100 percent of their positions activities to the grant, while the supervisor will contribute 70 percent, the project manager will contribute 30 percent, the manager will contribute 20 percent, and the business service representative will contribute five percent of their activities to the grant.
This reentry team will provide services, supervision, reporting, and employer communication, and will participate in ongoing meetings with DOL.
ADES will explore subcontracting peer mentors to provide mentoring inside the prisons during Phase 1, and in the residential reentry centers (RRC) during Phase 2.
ADES plans to continue services after the grant and plans for BOP to remain a significant partner for ADES reentry program.
With approximately 148 medium high security releases from USP and FCI Tucson facilities per year, ADES plans on serving at least 100 a year from the Tucson facilities.
In Phoenix, FCI releases an average of 164 a year, and ADES plans on serving 100 from FCI Phoenix.
Serving a combined total of 200 participants per year, with 800 served participants over the four-year grant period.
