Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of these grant funds is to help states implement negotiated recommendations (inclusive of discussed state project ideas that revise or expand from the negotiated recommendations) in areas the state needs to address the three goals of ARPA: (1) prevent and detect fraudulent activity, and to recover funds from fraud; (2) promote equitable access; and (3) ensure timely payment of benefits and reduce backlogs across all UC programs.
Activities to be performed: States must complete the USDOL sponsored TIGER team consultative assessment that leverages a multi-disciplinary approach related to identifying process improvements, enhancement of the states UC system and business processes, and implement negotiated recommendations (inclusive of discussed state project ideas that revise or expand from the negotiated recommendations) identified by the Department's TIGER team engagement assessment.
Expected outcomes: Enhance the states UC system and business processes to improve outcomes to detect and prevent fraud, promote equitable access, and ensure the timely payment of benefits (including reduction/elimination of adjudication and appeals backlogs).
Intended beneficiaries: State workforce agencies.
