Grant Description
Program Purpose Award Purpose: The purpose of 2023 QUEST Disaster Recovery DWGs is to enhance the public workforce systems ongoing efforts to empower Americas unemployed and underemployed workers through worker and business engagement, elevate equity, and connect jobseekers with high-quality jobs.
Activities to be performed: Employment and training activities tailored to the needs of each participant will include on-the-job training, work experience, vocational skills training and certification, job placement, and career counseling services. Supportive services such as childcare, transportation, housing, and mental health support will also be offered.
Strategic partnership activities with a coalition of trusted community organizations will be undertaken to equip displaced agricultural workers and residents of disinvested communities with the skills needed to secure good jobs in evolving sectors. Community and potential participant outreach activities will focus on reaching incorporated and unincorporated communities with high concentrations of farmworker households.
Business engagement activities will emphasize industry collaboration and tailored solutions to businesses staff recruitment, on-the-job training, and other needs.
Deliverables Expected Outcomes: 285 planned participants.
Intended beneficiaries: Individuals from historically marginalized or underserved communities including farmworkers, adults in farmworker households, adult children of farmworkers, and residents of disinvested communities.
Subrecipient activities: Local workforce development boards in the project service area.
Indirect costs: $26,236.00
