Grant Description
Program Purpose Award Purpose: The purpose of 2023 Quest Disaster Recovery DWGs is to enhance the public workforce systems ongoing efforts to empower Americas unemployed and underemployed workers through worker and business engagement, elevate equity, and connect jobseekers with high-quality jobs.
Activities to be performed: Employment and training activities will include career and educational coaching, occupational skills, on-the-job, entrepreneurial training, and registered apprenticeships for in-demand occupations. Supportive services as needed for participation in employment and training activities will be provided. Strategic partnership activities with industry, economic development, and community-based partners will inform outreach and service delivery activities.
Community and potential participant outreach activities will be conducted by existing workforce development, training and education, and non-profit community service providers to increase outreach to marginalized populations.
Business engagement activities will leverage the eleven, next gen industry sector partnerships in the focus industries and relationships with economic development authorities and local chambers to reach diverse businesses and offer business and technical consulting to reduce hiring costs and retain existing employees via career pathway development.
Deliverables Expected Outcomes: 533 planned participants.
Intended beneficiaries: Individuals from historically marginalized or underserved communities including under-employed workers, women, justice-involved individuals, individuals in recovery, long-term unemployed workers, English-language learners, individuals who are basic skills deficient, people living in poverty, tribal members, veterans, and self-employed individuals.
Subrecipient activities: Local workforce development boards
Indirect costs: $50,728.00
