Grant Description
This award funds the approved 2022-23 Public Health AmeriCorps Program. No member may enroll prior to the approved start date of the member enrollment period. Your 2022-23 regulatory match is 0%.
Epilepsy Foundation New England proposes to have 56 AmeriCorps members who will serve as Epilepsy Resource Room Coordinators. These coordinators will provide community health worker services in 16 hospitals and health care institutions in CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, and VT.
At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing the health knowledge of 2,053 individuals and improving the health of 678 people. Additionally, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 150 volunteers who will be engaged in supporting health education events, support groups, and community recreation for people living with disabilities.
After their year of service, 30 AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.
