Grant Description
This award funds the approved 2022-23 Public Health AmeriCorps program. No member may enroll prior to the approved start date of the member enrollment period. Your 2022-23 regulatory match is 0%.

Reading & Math, Inc. proposed to have 100 AmeriCorps members who will provide peer support and recovery coaching to individuals working to overcome opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders in California, Illinois, and Virginia.

At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for serving 1440 participants. Of these participants, 936 will meet with their member at least 3 times (65%). Additionally, 468 participants (50%) will demonstrate an average increase in their quality of life, self-esteem and self-efficacy, recovery capital, and confidence in staying substance-free in the next 90 days.

After their year of service, 60 AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.
