This award funds the approved 2022-23 Public Health AmeriCorps programs, as listed on the approved program and funding summary charts. No member may enroll prior to the approved start date of the member enrollment period. Your 2022-23 regulatory match is 0%.

The Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) proposes to have 101 AmeriCorps members who will provide family health education to 10,080 individuals and care management services to 9,000 individuals in community health centers (CHCs) located in the New York City, Long Island, Mid-Hudson, Capital, Western, Finger Lakes, and Central regions of New York State (NYS). After their year of service, 75 AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.

Concrete Safaris Inc. proposes to have 24 AmeriCorps members who will conduct environmental health literacy and place-based service learning interventions and refer participants for medical and wrap-around services in East Harlem, NYC. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing the health knowledge of 283 children and youth and providing 163 children/families and youth with improved access to medical care. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 500 volunteers who will be engaged in garden maintenance and placemaking based on the children and youth's plans. After their year of service, 16 AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.

The NYC Office of the Mayor: NYC Service, in partnership with the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), proposes to have 80 AmeriCorps members who will perform public health-related direct service and capacity-building activities in NYCHA developments and with nonprofit partners. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing the health knowledge and condition for 5,000 NYCHA residents impacted by the AmeriCorps members, as well as increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and program outreach at the program's 25 host sites. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 0 volunteers who will be engaged in 0 activities. After their year of service, 80 AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.

Public Health Solutions proposes to have four AmeriCorps members who will provide participant-centered need assessments and navigation services to low-income New Yorker families in underserved areas of Queens, New York. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increased self-actualization and self-determination for low-income New Yorkers. After their year of service, four AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.

The City of Rochester proposes to have 22 AmeriCorps members who will provide COVID-19 response and recovery services, assist in establishing neighborhood preventative health clinics, facilitate youth mentoring and trainings in public health, health educational and training programming, mental health education and awareness, community outreach, and emotional regulation skill building within high-poverty, urban, and marginalized neighborhoods in the City of Rochester and Monroe County, NY. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for assisting to mitigate the effects of the public health crisis in the City of Rochester. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 40 volunteers who will be engaged in peer and adult training services for additional support of economically disadvantaged program participants. After their year of service, 22 AmeriCorps members will pursue future engagement in the public health sector.

Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) proposes to have four full-time AmeriCorps members (members) who will build the infrastructure needed for RMH-NY to advance health equity outcomes for underserved medically complex children and their families.
