Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to implement the Louisiana Digital Equity Plan developed pursuant to the State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program.
Activities to be performed: Activities will include creating a Digital Equity Advisory Panel, creating and maintaining a Digital Equity Dashboard, collaboration with partners, development of a statewide strategy for creating sustainable access to low-cost and accessible technology and devices, and technical support for residents.
Expected outcomes: The proposed projects will result in increased adoption of digital tools by local governments and the online presence of businesses, increased participation and completion rates in online courses, certifications, and degrees, increased usage of telehealth, access to remote health monitoring tools, and confidence in using technology to access health information.
This will ensure digital equity for covered populations and geographic boundaries can help reduce disparities in health outcomes, indicating greater access to vital healthcare services.
Intended beneficiaries: Residents of the State of Louisiana and principally unserved and underserved covered populations statewide.
Subrecipient activities: The recipient does plan to subaward funds. The purpose is for implementing the DE Plan activities.

TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO STATES AND U.S. TERRITORIES TO IMPLEMENT THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANS DEVELOPED PURSUANT TO THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM. THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY CAPACITY GRANT PROGRAM NOFO ALSO ESTABLISHES A COMPETITIVE PROGRAM TO MAKE BOTH STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AND STATE DIGITAL EQUITY CAPACITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AVAILABLE TO NATIVE ENTITIES TO CARRY OUT DIGITAL EQUITY AND INCLUSION ACTIVITIES CONSISTENT WITH THE DIGITAL EQUITY ACT.
