Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Legacy Corps for Veteran and Military Families (LCVMF) at Arizona State University proposes to have 512 quarter-time AmeriCorps members who will provide caregiver support services to veteran and military families at 13 subaward sites in six (6) states.
At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for providing 245,760 hours of respite and other support services to 950 veterans or family members. This will help decrease caregiver burden and stress, enabling families to remain in their communities and potentially postponing or avoiding institutional care.
In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 315 volunteers who will be engaged in outreach, caregiver support, and food drives. This program aligns with the AmeriCorps (CNCS) focus area of veterans and military families.
The AmeriCorps investment of $2,201,797 will be matched with $2,201,797. This includes $1,530,276 in public funding and $671,521 in private funding.
