Overview

Grant Description
The National College Advising Corps proposes to have 265 AmeriCorps members who will provide college advising to low-income, first-generation, underrepresented students in underserved high schools in markets such as Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Kansas City.

At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing the college enrollment rates among economically disadvantaged youth at the high schools served. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of education.

The CNCS investment of $4,319,500 will be matched with $10,532,000, $750,000 in public funding and $9,782,000 in private funding.
