Grant Description
Conservation Corps proposes to have 96 AmeriCorps members who will carry out conservation service learning in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Missouri, and around the Midwest. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for 15,000 acres of vital habitat restored; 400 miles of trail and/or waterway created or improved; and 88 members trained, equipped, and available to respond to disasters. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 575 volunteers who will be engaged in river clean-ups, rain garden installations, and tree planting events.
This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of environmental stewardship. The CNCS investment of $1,536,000 will be matched with $1,920,172, $1,603,650 in public funding, and $316,522 in private funding.
