Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
If a proposal met the minimum criteria, it was reviewed and scored by two readers selected by the Commission. These readers were asked to agree on a consensus score sheet that was used to rank proposals. The score sheet aligned with the outline and points values specified in the New York State RFP. If the two readers could not come to consensus, a third reader was asked to review the proposal and to work with the original two readers to submit a consensus score sheet.
The reviewers then submitted their consensus score sheets for each proposal to the Commission, which were ranked according to score from highest to lowest. After evaluating the proposals, the Commission considered and automatically recommended applications that received a total score of 90 or above for funding. Applications that received a total score between 70 and 89 were, within the discretion of the Commission, recommended for funding. Applications scoring below a total of 70 points were not recommended for funding.
The programming proposed is expected to increase geographic diversity of the state's AmeriCorps portfolio, increase opportunities for individuals with disabilities to serve in AmeriCorps and/or to receive AmeriCorps services, or focus on a need not otherwise addressed in its AmeriCorps programming.
