Grant Description
American YouthWorks proposes to have 130 AmeriCorps members who will provide disaster relief, Gulf Coast restoration, and conservation of public lands in four states (AR, LA, OK, TX). At the end of the first program year, AmeriCorps members will be responsible for 1170 acres of improved public land and 45 miles of improved trails/waterways.
In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 500 volunteers who will be engaged in assisting in disaster areas and environmental stewardship projects through National Trails Day and MLK Day of Service.
The CNCS investment of $1,464,003 will be matched with $1,752,000, $1,727,000 in public funding, and $25,000 in private funding.
