Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
California Volunteers is the state office tasked with engaging Californians in service, volunteering, and civic action to tackle our state's most pressing challenges. The #CaliforniansForAll initiative of California Volunteers has an organizational focus on anti-poverty community development.
Our Californians for All VISTA project addresses food security within the CNCS's Healthy Futures focus area. VISTA members requested for this project will expand the capacity of critical partners that serve low-income and vulnerable populations to meet increasing demand for program services through sustained volunteer support.
VISTA members will assist those organizations in generating volunteers and establishing new or enhanced volunteer management practices to ensure long-term program viability. As a result of this project, Californians living in poverty will have greater access to the help they need as nonprofits and government agencies across California utilize volunteers more effectively to expand and improve services.
California Volunteers is requesting 60 VISTA members (54 members, 6 project leads) to serve for 1 year.
