Grant Description
YouthBuild USA proposes to have 2,642 AmeriCorps members who will build or repair housing units, refurbish computers, provide healthcare and wellness services, provide conservation, recycling, food services, or child development services in 70 low-income communities in 31 states each year.
At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for making at least 350 units of affordable housing available for low-income individuals and families.
In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 4,500 volunteers, who will be engaged in serving low-income individuals alongside the members or providing services to the Opportunity Youth who serve as members.
This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of economic opportunity.
The CNCS investment of $8,927,155 will be matched with $8,927,156, $4,491,142 in public funding and $4,436,013 in private funding.
