Grant Description
The Kansas City Public Library's mission is to be a doorway to knowledge for all people in our community. The proposed VISTA project aligns with the economic opportunities CNCS focus area. The VISTA project will seek to empower individuals to escape poverty with information literacy and access to quality information combined with increased adult basic skills and expects to average 1,000 beneficiaries a year.
Five VISTA members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as systems development, volunteer coordination, outreach, and community engagement over the course of the three-year project.
