Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Campus Compact is a national coalition of 1,100 colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education. Our work is grounded in local communities through our member institutions and through our network of state and regional offices.
As a majority of our members have partnerships with K-12 schools and youth serving organizations, our strategic plan includes a focus on educational equity--support for preparation, access, and persistence to graduation for students living in poverty.
In Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, 66 VISTAs and 4 VISTA leaders will leverage resources and strive for increased effectiveness in educational program delivery and better outcomes for project beneficiaries along the P-20 continuum (pre-K through college). Our VISTA project aligns with the CNCS education focus area.
We anticipate that our VISTAs will collectively recruit more than 2,000 volunteers, providing 45,000 service hours, to benefit students living in poverty throughout Southern New England.
We respectfully request $1,032,500 CNCS support, member support) to support this three-year project beginning in late July 2017.
