Grant Description
The purpose of this grant program is to provide culturally responsive services to crime victims and survivors from communities that have been historically underserved; marginalized; adversely affected by inequality; and disproportionately impacted by crime, violence, and victimization.
With this funding, DVSA communities will serve Latina women who are immigrants, undocumented, and victims of crime.
The program will offer transportation and assistance in overcoming food insecurities in the Chicago area.

Funding Goals
THE GOAL OF THIS INITIATIVE IS TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE FIELD TO COVER THE BASIC NEEDS OF VICTIMS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. IN RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF CRIME VICTIM SERVING ORGANIZATIONS, THIS SOLICITATION WILL PROVIDE FUNDING FOR CULTURALLY SPECIFIC VICTIM-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS TO ADDRESS VICTIM NEEDS, SUCH AS TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING, CLOTHING, FOOD, AND OTHER ITEMS RELATED TO THE WELL-BEING, HEALING, AND SAFETY OF SURVIVORS. SPECIAL CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED OVC FUNDING.
