Grant Description
The Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council proposes to implement the Support for Georgia Domestic Violence Services Project. The purpose is to implement strategies to help strengthen the continuum of care and increase service access to victims of domestic violence in the state of Georgia.
Project activities to be accomplished are upgrading domestic violence shelter technology, contracting needed services, funding supplies and assistance needs, training direct service staff, and community education and awareness initiatives.
Expected outcomes include: increased capacity and knowledge around trauma-informed practices for the community, direct service staff, and allied professionals; increased technological capacity, access to support services for victims of DV. Victims of domestic violence are the intended beneficiaries of the project.
Subrecipient activities include immediate shelter and related victim services such as therapy, counseling, and legal advocacy; collaborate with community partners to meet the individualized needs of victims; and promote community awareness and education.
