Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
Under this award, the Virginia Department of State Police requests funds for the following projects:

1) Data Warehouse Integration Project to build processes for VSP's newer SAAS solutions, AFIS, VSOMS, and CRIS to send information to the data warehouse. This project also includes data requirements for livescans and Perceptive Content. The result of the project will establish more control over the accuracy and quality of information, including data analysis capabilities. Integrating the data warehouse with other systems and agencies will provide for more information that is more accessible to submit records to the state and national systems.

2) Court Sealing Project to support contractors to implement changes to the Office of Executive Secretary case management systems. These changes will enhance the court sealing and expungement of records, which will improve the overall quality, timeliness, and completeness of criminal history and case data information managed by VSP and the court systems.

3) The Secure Information Exchange Project to support contractors to design and build an Okta Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) infrastructure. The result of the project will establish more controls over the accuracy and quality of information. It will also allow providers of criminal history information to directly access the data submitted to view existing data and make any corrections as needed.

4) Firearms Eligibility Project would use funds to support two technicians to perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the lawful possession of a firearm. This includes analyzing criminal history records and research. These positions will contact local law enforcement agencies to determine if any non-computerized juvenile or mental health records are available on the prospective purchaser, as requested in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.
