Block Grant
Overview
Grant Description
The law enforcement agencies in Clark County serve a diverse combination of suburban and rural communities, with a total population of approximately 513,100 residents. Collaborative partnerships between local, state, and federal agencies are crucial to the success of our endeavors aimed at reducing both violent and property crimes and effectively investigating any criminal activities that do occur.
Additionally, we maintain close ties with the community, actively involving citizen volunteers in various public service initiatives. Our primary goal is to bolster and optimize the efficiency of local law enforcement and the criminal justice system by implementing evidence-based strategies.
To achieve this, we plan to utilize JAG funding to strengthen community policing and problem-solving approaches, ultimately enhancing the safety and overall quality of life for all residents and visitors. This funding will support essential areas such as providing leadership training for police officers, implementing advanced technologies to improve crime reporting and investigation processes, and acquiring equipment that enhances public protection and ensures officer safety.
