Grant Description
The Orange County Sheriff's Department proposes implementing the Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center (OCIAC) Fusion Center Building Project. The purpose is to purchase the equipment necessary for the ongoing project at the new site of OCIAC.
The building will contain a Sensitive Compartment Information Facility (SCIF) used by analysts and personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies. Project activities consist of the cost of equipment for building improvement. This funding would help the county protect the region and advance public safety.
The equipment purchases would include digital workstations, smart video walls, smart video boards, and emergency backup generators for the fusion center that will enable intelligence data sharing. Expected outcomes are developing a multi-disciplinary team to receive, analyze, gather, and share threat-related information between the federal government and state, local, tribal, and private sector stakeholders.
OCIAC activities will comprise coordinating with multi-agency law enforcement operations to identify and target transnational crime and other threats to our region to protect residents, visitors, and critical infrastructure while recognizing all people's civil rights and liberties.
