Project Grant

Overview

Grant Description
The Louisiana Parole Project (LPP) is requesting funding to support the Employment Enhancement Program. The primary outcomes of this program centers around connecting reentry talent to employers before and after release and working to create better systems that encourage hiring of formerly incarcerated persons to fill job needs in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge super region.

The intended beneficiaries of this project are men and women returning to the Sola super region. Through establishing strong communication between the Department of Corrections and industry leaders in the super region, this program will benefit both the formerly incarcerated by providing access to training and potential employment and the local economies of these communities by linking employers with a skilled workforce.

The program intends to provide a subaward to a consultant who will provide external evaluation services to measure the impact of effectiveness of the proposed enhancement.

LPP is requesting priority consideration for both Priority #1 and Priority #2. Information detailing how LPP meets Priority Consideration #1 can be found on page 17 of the narrative. Information detailing how LPP meets Priority Consideration #2 can be found on pages 8 and 9 of the narrative.
