Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to implement the Delaware Digital Equity Plan developed pursuant to the State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program.
Activities to be performed: Activities will include a Digital Navigator Program where Digital Navigators and assistants will help library patrons build their digital skills and locate needed services.
The Delaware Department of Labor will offer training to the IT industry in wrap-around services for eligible clients and will market the program.
Funds will also be used to create an assistive technology library and offer video interpretation services via tablets.
Activities will also include continued community outreach and research activities to monitor how digital needs of the population are being met or changing and update the State DE Plan accordingly.
Expected outcomes: The proposed award will use Capacity Grant Program funding to realize its vision for digital equity and to implement activities and strategies identified in the State Digital Equity Plan.
The proposed projects will result in better access to devices, improved digital skills and safety, and increased representation of racial minorities in the tech workforce.
Intended beneficiaries: Residents of the State of Delaware and principally unserved and underserved covered populations statewide.
Subrecipient activities: The recipient does plan to subaward funds.

THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY CAPACITY GRANT PROGRAM NOFO ALSO ESTABLISHES A COMPETITIVE PROGRAM TO MAKE BOTH STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AND STATE DIGITAL EQUITY CAPACITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AVAILABLE TO NATIVE ENTITIES TO CARRY OUT DIGITAL EQUITY AND INCLUSION ACTIVITIES CONSISTENT WITH THE DIGITAL EQUITY ACT.
