Grant Description
This EDA investment supports the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe with making roadway infrastructure improvements needed to support business growth in a region impacted by the declining use of coal.
The project work includes constructing a one-half mile, two-lane road on the Yavapai-Prescott Reservation to provide access to land with future development potential in Prescott, Arizona.
Once completed, the project will help the tribe address the significant and sudden loss of jobs caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the decline in the coal industry by enhancing job creation and retention in an area. This will advance economic resiliency throughout the region.
