Grant Description
Description: This action provides funding in the amount of $5,245,904 to the Town of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, to support the implementation of its project to improve its water system as directed in the 2023 and 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Acts or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.
Activities: The activities to be performed include the execution and implementation of a drinking water infrastructure construction project.
Workplan activities consist of construction of the water distribution main from the proposed Booster Pump Station (BPS) to the Town of Fuquay-Varina.
The line would consist of 8,188 feet of 30-inch water main from the proposed BPS site near the intersection of Buckhorn-Duncan Road and Duncan Cook Road in Wake County to Piney Grove-Wilbon Road and 15,899 feet of 24-inch main to connect the 30-inch water main to the existing 16-inch asbestos cement pipe on the east side of Highway 55.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include a completed distribution main which will complete a conveyance line to connect to the Town of Fuquay-Varina's existing drinking water distribution system.
The expected outcomes include an upgrade to the drinking water distribution system for the Town of Fuquay-Varina which will provide access to 6 MGD of water.
The intended beneficiaries include residents of the Town of Fuquay-Varina.
