Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to implement the Arkansas Digital Equity Plan developed pursuant to the State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program.

Activities to be performed: The proposed project activities include: establishing and supporting digital skills programs; facilitation of a program that will provide reduced-cost devices to individuals that complete digital skills training; establishment of mini-grant programs for community Wi-Fi access at locations frequented by covered populations.

Expected outcomes: The proposed projects will result in: enhanced internet availability and affordability; residents will be empowered to navigate digital technologies confidently for both personal and professional growth; improved access to state resources; improved access to affordable devices; strengthened community engagement in digital initiatives.

Intended beneficiaries: Residents of the State of Arkansas and principally unserved and underserved covered populations statewide.

Subrecipient activities: The recipient does plan to subaward funds. The purpose is for implementing the DE Plan activities.
Funding Goals
TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO STATES AND U.S. TERRITORIES TO IMPLEMENT THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANS DEVELOPED PURSUANT TO THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM. THE STATE DIGITAL EQUITY CAPACITY GRANT PROGRAM NOFO ALSO ESTABLISHES A COMPETITIVE PROGRAM TO MAKE BOTH STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AND STATE DIGITAL EQUITY CAPACITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AVAILABLE TO NATIVE ENTITIES TO CARRY OUT DIGITAL EQUITY AND INCLUSION ACTIVITIES CONSISTENT WITH THE DIGITAL EQUITY ACT.
