Grant Description
The proposed project will support closing the digital equity gap and the development of a statewide digital equity plan. The proposed project includes the following activities to support plan development:
1. Establish a state digital equity task force.
2. Create priority area subcommittees.
3. Conduct a statewide digital equity survey.
4. Conduct local and regional outreach in the form of statewide convenings - one at the beginning to collect input and one later in the process to provide feedback.
5. Public engagement - ongoing through roundtables, listening sessions, e-newsletters, media outlets, and a public comment process through the Broadband for All portal.
The proposed project will result in the development of a robust state digital equity plan that will benefit the state of California and principally unserved and underserved covered populations statewide. The recipient plans to subaward funds for the purpose of local stakeholder engagement and data collection.
