Grant Description
Description: This action provides funding in the amount of $4,000,000.00 to the Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict, SC (D/B/A MetroConnects) to implement its project to rehabilitate, expand, and connect the Union Bleachery Mill Village sewer system into the consolidated MetroConnects sewer system as directed in the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
Activities: The activities to be performed include the execution and implementation of a wastewater infrastructure construction project.
Workplan activities consist of cured in place piping lining of 15' sewer lines, removal and installation of 8'-12' ductile iron pipes, removal and installation of 8' PVC pipes, rehabilitation/relocation and removal of manholes, and lateral service connections.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include abandonment of collection lines and manholes (8,615 linear feet of 12' sewer line and 120 manholes), CIPP rehabilitation for 15' sewer line (224 linear feet), installation of new 8' PVC sewer line (4,953 linear feet), installation of new 8' DI sewer line (239 linear feet), installation of new 12' DI sewer line (647 linear feet), rehabilitation/relocation of 27 manholes, and installation of 104 service laterals.
The expected outcomes include replacing the sewer system which will stop the excessive infiltration/inflow from entering the sewer collection system and directly reduce the potential for sanitary sewer overflows that plague the current system.
The intended beneficiaries include the residents of Union Bleachery Mill Village, South Carolina.
