Cooperative Agreement
Overview
Grant Description
Description: This agreement approves funding in the amount of $5,400,000.00 to Greenville Water System South Carolina.
The recipient will use these funds for Adkins Water Transmission Main Line Project to implement a project to construct a new 60-inch welded steel pipe (WSP) transmission main from the Adkins Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) as directed in the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
Activities: The activities to be performed are to install approximately 31,810 linear feet of 60-inch main by a combination of open cut and trenchless methods within the existing Greenville Water easements.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables is a new 60-inch welded steel pipe (WSP) transmission main parallel to the existing 72-inch main within the existing Greenville Water easements from the Adkins WTP to the Cedar Rock storage tanks, which has an expected outcome of providing redundancy in the event of a main break and to provide for the ability to take either transmission main out of service for anticipated maintenance or repair.
The needed redundancy will reduce the potential for interrupted water service for utilizers of the system—nearly 660,000 customers in the upstate of South Carolina will benefit from the project.
