Grant Description
Description: This action approves an award in the amount of $9,875,000 under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to Richmond County Board of Education.
This agreement is to replace existing school buses with clean and zero emission (ZE) school buses.
Activities: The activities include replacing 25 diesel school buses with 25 electric school buses as well as using clean school bus funds to purchase 25 Direct Current Fast (DC) chargers along with installation of the associated charging infrastructure.
The new school buses will serve the Richmond County School System in Georgia.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: Anticipated deliverables include the purchase of 25 new Class 7 electric school buses and 25 DC fast chargers, installation of electric vehicle supply equipment charging infrastructure, and workforce training.
The expected outcomes include an annual reduction of diesel emissions for 25 buses by 100% and increased public awareness.
