Description:
This action approves an award in the amount of $3,200,000 to Charlotte County, Florida to implement its project to connect residential homes in the Ackerman neighborhood that are currently being served by on-lot septic systems to Charlotte County's East Water Reclamation Facility as directed in the 2022 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
Activities:
The activities to be performed are installing vacuum sewers and low-pressure sewers to serve zones 3 and 4 and low pressure sewer area in the Ackerman neighborhood of Porte Charlotte in Charlotte County, Florida.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables are installing approximately 58,240 linear feet (LF) of vacuum sewers and 15,130 LF of low-pressure sewers to serve zones 3 and 4 and low pressure sewer area in the Ackerman neighborhood of Porte Charlotte in Charlotte County, Florida.
This is expected to lead to proper abandonment of the septic tanks and connection to central sewer of the approximate 730 homes.
Approximately 18,250 lbs of total nitrogen (TN) and 4,380 lbs of total phosphorus (TP) will be eliminated, assuming 2.5 persons per household producing approximately 10 lbs TN /person/year of total nitrogen and 2.4 lbs TP /person/year.
This project will benefit the residents of Ackerman neighborhood of Porte Charlotte in Charlotte County, Florida.
