Description:
This action approves funding in the amount of $1,600,000.00 to the City of Gulfport, MS to implement its project-Northwood Hill Water Main Replacement Project - which consist of removing and installing of a new 8' water main in the Northwood Hills Subdivision area.
The water main installation will be along Parkwood Drive, Depew Rd, and throughout eleven cul-de-sacs, which will serve the purpose of ensuring a reliable and sustainable water distribution system and improved fire protection for the residences by increasing the water pressure and its efficiency as directed in the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.
Activities:
The activities to be performed are the replacement and installation a new 8-inch waterline in the Northwood Hills Subdivision area along Parkwood Drive, Depew Road, and throughout 11 cul-de-sacs in Gulfport, MS.
Approximately 3,600 linear feet (LF) of the mainline will be replaced with 8-inch ductile iron pipe, and approximately 9,000 LF of other waterlines will be replaced with 8-inch PVC water pipe.
The old waterline will be abandoned in place, and the new line will be installed via open-cut excavation.
The new watermain will be placed in the existing paved right-of-way.
Minimal vegetation will be disturbed during service line attachment, and any disturbed vegetation will be returned to its original state.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables are planning and design of project, assistance with any applicable permit requirements, including inflow and infiltration study; permits; inspections; operations and maintenance manual, which are expected to lead to water main installation for the residents of the Northwood Hills Subdivision area.
