Description:
This agreement provides assistance to the Native Village of Kluti-Kaah to build its capacity to administer an environmental program on Indian lands in FY25. The tribe will manage the administrative and financial aspects of the grant, manage solid and hazardous waste and emergency preparedness and healthy homes.
Activities:
Native Village of Kluti-Kaah will build a strong environmental office with the capacity to successfully manage the grant and help the community resolve environmental issues; educate tribal members on air quality and other important ways to sustain a healthy home and emergency preparedness so that informed decisions can be made about next steps to address them; and backhaul white goods, e-waste, lead acid batteries, and recyclable items out of the community.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
The anticipated deliverables include copies of presentations and handout materials, summary report on cleanup, certifications, backhaul logs, photos, trip reports, meeting notes, lists of online links and quarterly reports. The expected outcomes include a strong foundation in grants management and collaboration with partners; tribal members' participation in local environmental activities and projects, community understanding and involvement with solid waste issues; a smoothly functioning solid waste management program and the community becomes informed and prepared to adapt to emergency preparedness. The intended beneficiaries are the community of Native Village of Kluti-Kaah.
