Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to the City of Palmer in Alaska to implement its project to upgrade the wastewater treatment system as directed in the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
Activities: The activities to be performed include the execution and implementation of a wastewater infrastructure construction project.
Workplan activities consist of updating the headworks building processes and equipment, modifying the compressed air system, enclosing the secondary clarifiers in a building, and designing a solids management plan.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include updated headworks building processes and equipment, a modified compressed air system, an enclosed secondary clarifiers building, and a solids management plan.
The expected outcomes include a significant reduction in contaminants discharged, enhanced system reliability, more efficient handling and processing of solids, and a more resilient and effective wastewater treatment system.
The intended beneficiaries include the residents of Palmer and the environment.
