Description:
This agreement is for the implementation of an authorized hazardous waste management program in the state of Washington to control the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste; to minimize hazardous waste production; and to protect health and the environment from inactive hazardous waste facilities.
Activities:
Activities include permitting, corrective action, inspections, enforcement, computerized tracking, ensuring data quality, and pollution prevention outreach.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
Deliverables include minimizing environmental threats, implementing effective compliance assurance activities, accomplishing permitting activities, ensuring quality information, improving waste regulations, and maintaining an authorized RCRA program. This will help to preserve and restore the land by reducing waste generation and by managing hazardous wastes properly. Direct beneficiaries of this program include state residents.
