Description:
The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to improve the health and sanitation conditions in the rural Alaska communities and Alaska Native villages. Activities to be performed include the development and construction of water and wastewater systems.
Activities:
The award will fund the design and construction of water and wastewater facilities in 10 rural and Alaska Native communities. It will also establish a construction reserved account to address unpredictably high construction costs.
Subrecipient:
Two projects will be administered by ANTHC. Chevak New Lagoon ($21,740,000) and Galena Water Main Replacement ($280,000).
Outcomes:
Anticipated deliverables are water and wastewater infrastructure to provide safe drinking water and wastewater treatment. This will protect the public and environmental health of the communities receiving infrastructure under this award. The deliverables include water and wastewater infrastructure that meets water and wastewater regulations and ensures sustainable utilities.
