Description:
This project will assemble a project management team; select and contract a qualified demolition firm to safely deconstruct the Polaris Hotel and Annex (Polaris Buildings); and address associated hazardous materials (HAZMAT), safety, and human health requirements. The goal is to have an unencumbered site for redevelopment within the next two years.

Activities:
The City of Fairbanks (COF) will prepare and publish public notices, prepare meeting materials and presentations, and prepare and distribute other public information materials. The COF will work with the contractor to create a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP), environmental document, health and safety plans (HASPs), and final cleanup plan. To demo the building, the COF will create RFPS for contractor procurement, conduct demolition of Polaris Annex, conduct demolition of Polaris Hotel, and complete final performance report.
