Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to McAlester Public Works Authority to implement its project for City of McAlester drinking water improvements as directed in the 2022 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.

Activities: The activities to be performed include the execution and implementation of a drinking water infrastructure construction project.

Workplan activities consist of the construction of approximately 12,200 linear feet of 16-inch water main, including mainline connections, service connections, fire hydrant assemblies, isolation gate valves, and necessary highway and railroad bores.

Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.

Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include approximately 12,200 linear feet of 16-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water main and the integration of mainline connections, service connections, fire hydrant assemblies, and isolation gate valves.

The expected outcomes include reduced likelihood of environmental hazards associated with leaks or failures in the aging water transmission line, enhanced water delivery efficiency, improved reliability of the water system, and long-term reduction in operational and maintenance costs due to the use of durable PVC materials.

The intended beneficiaries include residents of the City of McAlester and the five rural water districts also served by the water system.
