Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to Envirotech Vehicles.
This agreement is to replace existing school buses with clean and zero emission (ZE) school buses.
Activities: The activities include replacing twenty-five (25) existing diesel emission with twenty-five (25) clean, zero emission school buses and acquisition of the necessary charging stations.
The new school buses will serve the following school districts in Arkansas and Texas: Searcy Schools, Arkansas (AR), Lincoln Consolidated Schools (AR), Blanket ISD, Texas (TX), Sam Rayburn ISD (TX), Waelder ISD (TX), Kopperl ISD (TX), Shepherd ISD (TX) and Freer ISD (TX).
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include: replacing twenty-five (25) diesel school bus vehicles for eight (8) school districts (Searcy Schools (AR), Lincoln Consolidated Schools (AR), Blanket ISD (TX), Sam Rayburn ISD (TX), Waelder ISD (TX), Kopperl ISD (TX), Shepherd ISD (TX) and Freer ISD (TX)), transport two-thousand three-hundred (2,300) school children on zero emission or clean school buses rather than diesel buses, provide comprehensive training on benefits and use of electric school buses to district staff, mechanics, bus drivers and first responders, conduct community engagement activities to ensure meaningful participation with respect to the implementation of the project and expansion of electric vehicle fleets and create academic programs, projects and instructional materials to enhance the communities' understanding and ability to support the adoption of clean fuel vehicles.
The expected outcomes include emissions reduction along school bus routes, improved air quality, reduced noise pollution, smaller carbon footprint to create healthier and more sustainable living environments for residents and community benefits to include reduced health risks, increased quality of life and a positive image as an environmentally conscious area, increased strong understanding of the importance of adopting clean fuel vehicles, increased drivers to optimize the efficiency of electric vehicle powertrain operations, improved community awareness of air quality and the environmental and economic impact of the adoption of clean vehicles, increased understanding of the benefits of adopting clean fuel vehicles, enhanced workforce programs and the existence of trained technicians as the communities' electric vehicles adoption increases.
The intended beneficiaries include bus drivers, mechanics, community members, students, teachers, parents and local community residents.
