Grant Description
Description: This action provides partial funding in the amount of $16,535 to support the Alabama Department of Environmental Management for activities including but not limited to the review of remedial investigation and feasibility studies, proposed plans, and records of decision at Superfund sites in Alabama when the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is the lead agency for remedial action.

Activities to be performed include review of information, attending site-related meetings, reviewing, and commenting on technical documents and participating in five-year reviews. The agreement will allow the state to provide technical assistance and management assistance to EPA at National Priorities List (NPL), NPL caliber and Federal Site of Interest in Alabama throughout the remedial response action in the form of document review and comments.

The expected outcome of this agreement will allow the state to provide technical assistance and management assistance to the EPA. The state will review and comment on technical documents during the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study phase (RI/FS), such as the RI/FS work plan, and the field sampling and analysis plan.

Direct beneficiaries of this program include residents of Alabama, that will benefit from the cooperative agreement. The anticipated deliverable of this cooperative agreement will involve the state generating a report in the form of a five-year review. No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
