Grant Description
This project provides funding to the Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma to supplement the remedial activities by cleanup of the Tar Creek Superfund Bird Dog site. The site contains Tar Creek Distal Zone Distal CP004 package, which includes CB013, CB014, FT001, and FT008. Additionally, the funding will be used to conduct site characterization activities at this hazardous waste site and to effectively implement the statutory requirement of CERCLA 121(F), which mandates substantial and meaningful state/tribal involvement.
This funding enables the Quapaw Tribe to lead this Superfund cleanup and to consult with EPA before, during, or after cleanup activities in such a manner that protects human health and the environment.
