Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to City of Shakopee to implement its project to protect and stabilize the MN riverbank as directed in the 2022 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.
Activities: The activities to be performed include the execution and implementation of streambank restoration infrastructure to protect the MN riverbank from erosion which has caused intense floods and ensure long-term stability.
Workplan activities consist of structural solutions such as riprap placement, bank grading, and vegetative restoration.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include riprap placement, riverbank grading, and vegetative restoration of the MN riverbank.
The expected outcomes include reduction in erosion which has been causing intense floods.
The intended beneficiaries include the community and the environment by reducing the effects of erosion.
The environmental habitats and the cultural resources along the MN riverbank will be better maintained.
Also, general public health will be increased as the amount of intense floods into the stormwater system will be reduced.
