Grant Description
Description: The agreement provides funding to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
Specifically, the recipient will increase hydrologic connection, restore wetlands, and establish deep water habitat, management actions necessary for the delisting of the St. Louis River AOC.
Activities: The activities include the removal of aging water treatment infrastructure, dredging of various habitat types, construction of a secondary channel, and bridge installation.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include an executed implementation contract, implemented restoration project, monitoring and maintenance plan, and as-built documents.
The expected outcomes include improved hydraulic conditions, increased spawning and rearing habitat for fish, increased habitat for migratory and marsh birds, and re-establishment of off-channel winter refugia for fish.
The intended beneficiaries include residents of Duluth, MN.
