Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to Waukesha Water Utility to implement its project to abandoning existing water supply wells as directed in the [2024] Consolidated Appropriations Act or as identified in an approved technical correction if one has been approved for this project.
Activities: The activities to be performed include the execution and implementation of a drinking water infrastructure construction project.
Workplan activities consist of water treatment plant decommissioning components.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include decommissioning of wells in former water supply.
The expected outcomes include the following components:
- Radium treatment removal at Wells 3 and 8
- Transmission line capping between Wells 11, 12 and treatment plant
- Well abandonment of Wells No 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13
- Building demolitions of Wells No. 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13
- Removal of equipment/piping/electrical/controls at Wells No. 5, 6, 11, 12, 13
- Removal of concrete reservoir to grade at Wells No. 5 and 6 and in Hillcrest Park
The intended beneficiaries include residents in the City of Waukesha, WI.
