Grant Description
Description: This agreement provides funding to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR).
WDNR will administer 9 projects that will identify management actions across several beneficial use impairments within the Milwaukee Estuary and Lower Green Bay Fox River Areas of Concern (AOCs).
Activities: Activities include subaward management, quality assurance project plan development, and reporting.
Subrecipient: The activities implemented through subawards include baseline assessments and surveys, gathering historical data, developing ERMPs and HRPs, project management and contractor oversight, and outreach.
Outcomes: Some of the deliverables include quality assurance project plans, final ecological restoration and management plans (ERMPs), habitat restoration plans (HRPs), and final designs.
Outcomes include addressing wildlife impairment targets for breeding birds, herptiles/crayfish, and mammals, improving the quality of aquatic habitat to support a better population of fish indicator species, improving connectivity between fish and wildlife populations by improving size and connecting gaps or barriers of habitat types, amplifying community engagement, and eventually leading to the restoration of approximately 185 acres of habitat in the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern for the benefit of fish and wildlife.
