Grant Description
Description: The Assistance Agreement provides funding to the American Lung Association to administer and implement projects that will reduce emissions of diesel particulate matter, NOX and exposure to diesel air toxics in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio.
Activities: The activities include creating and finalizing agreements with 8 project partners to replace 42 diesel-fueled vehicles with cleaner alternatives.
Specifically, the replacement vehicles include: 6 zero-emission electric refuse haulers, 18 heavy-duty clean diesel trucks, 5 compressed natural gas refuse haulers, 11 optional low-NOX compressed natural gas refuel haulers and 2 zero-emission electric terminal tractors.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this Assistance Agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables include completed quarterly and final report(s), 8 finalized agreements with fleet project partners, and the turnover of 42 diesel-fueled vehicles with cleaner alternatives across 8 fleets.
The expected outcomes include reduced lifetime emissions, improved outdoor air quality and the reduction of lung disease.
The intended beneficiaries include the environment and people living and working near the project locations.
